A Simple Woman's Daybook

(Please use link at right to connect with Peggy's blog and other daybook entries...)

For Today...
Outside my window...cloudy, dreary day with a possibility we may have 3 to 5 inches of snow tonight

I am thinking...that the time of Advent is going so fast, and my heart is not quite keeping up

From the learning rooms...typical Monday with a full schedule. We've dropped piano except for Christmas songs until after Christmas

I am thankful for...heat, a home, and good health

From the kitchen...nothing brewing right now except the coffee!!

I am wearing...slippers and socks, comfy jeans, white long sleeved shirt and flannel. Gotta stay warm in this house!

I am reading...Karen Kingsbury's Sunset; What a fabulous Christian author she is!

I am hoping...that I can get a lot of work done tomorrow when I spend the majority of the day at the office

I am creating...Christmas lists

I am hearing...the fan of the computer, JT whistling

Around the house...kids are really doing well keeping up with their jobs. I have cleaner bathrooms than I have in years, rooms are tidy, and we are developing some good habits of organization! Still have to work with TJ to get her room up to snuff

One of my favorite things...Christmas music!

A few plans for the rest of the week...tonight I have the deacon's wives over for prayer and praise, church school board tomorrow night, going to work all afternoon (after lunch with my friend Gina) in order to get many, many things off my list that have fallen by the wayside as of late

Have a great week!

I'm still trying to get my children to clean/do their chores. What's your secret? I enjoyed your daybook. Have a good week.

I'm right there with you on Advent. I didn't feel I really prayed enough during last week. I hope to do better this one! I enjoyed your Daybook. Have a blessed rest of the week!

I agree with you about Advent. I so badly want to simply enjoy this season and it's rushing by so quickly that I feel like I'm not savoring it!

It sounds like you have a busy, productive week ahead of you!

Isn't it a joy when our children 'own' their chores, and are conscientious in performing them? I think this is so important, and down-deep beneficial to our children, because then they know they are necessary, competent participants in the 'family team.'

I hope to write my Daybook entry at the end of the day. I would have to say I'm still in my thermal pajamas. :P But I could also mention all the chores I've gotten done before leaving for school, so it's a toss up!

I'm so encouraged by your desire to slow down. It's difficult, I know, but it's never too late! May God keep you in His perfect peace. May you know joy throughout this day...

Sounds cold up your part of the world! We have 60 - 70 degree weather in South Florida right now. I'm hoping it'll get a bit colder as Christmas approaches.

It can be hard to get into the Advent celebration with so many distractions going on. Don't worry - it isn't about how you feel, it's about worshipping the Lord. Focus on that, and everything else will fall into place.

Have a blessed week.

Good morning! I've enjoyed your Daybook and I, too, love Christmas music.

...about the time on my blog...
I think it's a bit off and need to look at my settings :)

Blessings,

You're busy! That's great that you have so much home organization. I wish I did, but I'll have to do more than just wish in order for it to happen! Have a great week!
